چکیده

Designing an analog integrated circuit requires multiple forms of constraints. One has equalities describing circuit behavior, both DC and AC. When used in a design plan applied for optimization-based sizing, it is important that the number of analytical operations required to obtain a quantitative measure is minimal. Therefore, simplification of the analytical models allowing evaluation is desired. The goal is to simplify the model as much as possible, without loosing too much accuracy. In this paper, we will present a behavioral signal path modeling method for the AC part of a design plan. The modeling methodology transforms a device-level small-signal schematic, into a behavioral, control system equivalent. This behavioral equivalent is a model obtained by incremental modeling, which gradually simplifies the original (small-signal) circuit up to a level with sufficient accuracy over the complete design space. The model moreover allows to decompose the signal path and thus transfer function in a form allowing to evaluate the latter in a bottom up way, with a minimal amount of equation clusters or simultaneous AC constraints. Both the simplification and the way the transfer function is evaluated, make that the obtained model is computationally efficient. In addition, the behavioral signal path model offers qualitative insight into the small-signal operation of the circuit.

Physical and Behavioral Circuit Modeling of the SP-12 sampler

Aliasing, usually considered an artifact of discrete time systems to be avoided, is found to be an aesthetic feature of the E-MU SP-12 sampler/drum machine. This paper presents the steps in modeling the SP-12 as a signal processing system. Measurements of the characteristics of the SP-12 are presented. The signal path is analyzed to produce a physically based model of the circuit. Circuit analy...

A Novel Cancellation Path Modeling Signal for Active Noise Control

A new on-line cancellation path modeling signal for active noise control is proposed in this paper. The signal is based on the spectrum of the disturbance signal, and is especially useful for the cancellation path modeling in active noise control when the disturbance signal is tonal. It is shown that using the proposed signal as the perturbation signal in modeling can significantly reduce the m...

A Computationally Efficient Frequency-Domain Filtered-X LMS Algorithm for Virtual Microphone

The computational complexity of the virtual FXLMS algorithm is higher than that of the conventional FXLMS algorithm. The additional complexity comes from computation of three secondary path transfer functions (as opposed to one) and a transfer function between the physical and the virtual microphones. The order of these transfer functions may be very high in practical situations where the acous...

Congestion estimation of router input ports in Network-on-Chip for efficient virtual allocation

Effective and congestion-aware routing is vital to the performance of network-on-chip. The efficient routing algorithm undoubtedly relies on the considered selection strategy. If the routing function returns a number of more than one permissible output ports, a selection function is exploited to choose the best output port to reduce packets latency. In this paper, we introduce a new selection s...
